“A Day at the Beach” Road Race Results
We had a fantastic day for our 26th Annual 1k Kids fun run and 5k road race. Our T-shirt Design Contest Winner, Jet Francis (pictured right), was thrilled to have her design on this year’s race shirts, revealed on race day.
This year we had a total of 360 registered runners, with 73 kids in the 1k fun run! You can find your race time result on the Granite State Race Services website here.
Congratulations to Jeb Scipio Del Campo, the overall boys 1k winner finishing at 2:11, and Ella Wilner, the overall girls 1k winner finishing at 2:27! In the 5k race, Thomas Weiss was the first to cross the finish line and placed first in the men’s division, while Jet Francis placed first in the women’s division. Check out pictures from the day on KBIA’s facebook page.
A huge thank you goes out to Hannaford, Southern Maine Food Initiative, NibMor Chocolate, and Condon’s donuts for their generous donations to the race. We would also like to thank Kennebunk Savings Bank and The Portland Red Claws for providing their mascots and WMTW for broadcasting the race.
And of course we can’t forget to express our gratitude to all the volunteers, runners, and spectators for making this such a special and fun day!
Like our course? Nicole’s Run, hosted on KBIA grounds and following our same 1K and 5K route, will be held Sunday, July 30. All funds raised will benefit Caring Unlimited domestic violence prevention programs, in memory of Kennebunk mother Nicole Oliver.
