The Kennebunk Beach Improvement Association (KBIA) is a community-based, not for-profit organization that offers summer recreational and enrichment programs for children. KBIA relies heavily on the generous contributions of our members and friends. Through your membership and your gifts, KBIA is able to provide the same safe, fun, beautiful, and nurturing learning environment that it has provided consistently to five generations of children, while allowing us the opportunity to grow and improve our programs.
We’re proud to be a place that lets children be children and lets them explore the vast and rugged beauty of the Coast of Maine in summer, while building knowledge, leadership, and respect for themselves, others and their world. We’re particularly proud of the scholarships we offer to children in the Kennebunk area who might otherwise not be able to take advantage of our KBIA enrichment programs, and of our many other community endeavors. Since 1910, KBIA has been the cornerstone, the community green, of Kennebunk Beach. We perform a key role in the community as a focal point of Mother’s Beach by keeping the beach safe, clean, and family-friendly, with our playground, bath facilities and the KBIA Day at the Beach Road Race.
The annual membership fees help support KBIA’s programs. Membership fees remain a crucial element for us to achieve operational breakeven, to allow us to provide local scholarships, and to keep the cost of classes down. As we move towards a more sustainable financial structure, we hope all members, new and old, will consider showing their support by committing to their previous membership level, or, if possible, increasing their membership support. All of us at KBIA thank you for your continued backing and generous contributions. We would not be able to provide exemplary programming and quality instruction without your generosity.
