What better way to enhance your summer than to sign up for KBIA classes?!  We have been happy to hear from many of you as summer planning gets underway, and expect an increase in registrations as school winds down.  Just a friendly reminder that participants are signed up on a first-come, first-serve basis, and classes can fill up quickly. Because we want to serve you the best way we can, we encourage you to register as soon as possible. We have added a weekly schedule on our website to make things easier, check it out here.  Registration paperwork can be sent to [email protected].  Register today, and rest easy knowing your summer activities are set!

What does it mean to be a KBIA member?
 
Being a KBIA member sure does have it’s perks.  Not only are you supporting an exemplary summer enrichment program for children, you are also eligible for the following list of incredibly fun activities:
 
Allowed to register for…
  • Over 50 classes are offered a la carte at our picturesque seaside property, to registered members only during Weeks 2 thru 8 of the summer
  • Adult lap swim sessions at the KBIA outdoor pool
  • Yoga classes on the KBIA lawn (ages 15+)
  • Movie nights
Invited to (no registration required)…
  • Twice-daily free-swim sessions at the KBIA outdoor pool
  • Weekly campfire beach BBQ
  • Family weekend sailing and kayaking at the KBIA docks in the cove
  • Monthly Watersports, BBQ, and Awards
Members are also invited to be listed in the annual Membership Directory that is mailed out to all members in the Fall.  The MD includes lists of past award winners,  donors, and membership contact information.
 
Membership paperwork can be found on our website, and completed forms can be e-mailed to [email protected]. 
 
We welcome non-members to sign up for classes during Week 1 without paying a membership fee, so spread the word to those interested in trying us out!

Upcoming KBIA Events
 
Cove Walk – LAUNCH! Maritime Festival
June 17
 
A fun activity for the whole family, join us for our first Cove Walk of the season, on June 17th, 4 to 6 PM.  KBIA is honored to be a part of the Kennebunk-Kennebunkport-Arundle Chamber of Commerce LAUNCH! Maritime Festival, celebrating the community’s rich maritime history.  Call 207-967-2180 for reservations.  $11 per family. 
    
We also encourage KBIA members to participate in the first ever “River Lights” boat parade at 8:30pm on Saturday, June 18th – sure to be an event to remember!

Day at the Beach 5K/1K Road Race
July 9
 
Come run with us on a certified course that begins and ends at beautiful Kennebunk Beach. The course winds through a shaded, beachside neighborhood and finishes alongside the Atlantic. Post-race snacks and beverages are provided. Race Medallions are awarded to first-and second-place winners in several age categories.
 
Proceeds to benefit KBIA scholarships & programming, and Kids Free to Grow – the Child Abuse Prevention Council for York County.
 
 
Seaside Celebration
July 22
 
Enjoy cocktails by the cove and catch up with friends at our annual Seaside Celebration.  Cocktails, food, and friends by the beach, it doesn’t get much better!

The KBIA office, located on the first floor of Strong Cottage, will be open for the season on June 19, one week in advance of opening day.  We are available to accept registrations and can help answer any questions about classes, memberships, etc.
 
Our office hours starting on June 19th are:
 
Monday: 8 AM to 5 PM
Tuesday – Friday: 9 AM to 12 PM | 1 to 4 PM
