We love all parts of summer, but when August rolls in we really hit our stride here at KBIA. Now in Week 6, we have so many activities coming up to look forward to, including sailing races, swim meets, beach bonfires & movie nights, tween/teen night excursions, open sail/kayak weekends.  We are having more fun than ever and we hope you will join us.  It’s not too late to sign up for classes in August …come visit the office and we can help you with schedules.  Let’s really make this a summer to remember!

Extra Fun This Week
Extended Campfire Beach BBQ
This Wednesday night, August 1, we will keep the fire on the beach going through movie night to give the adults a chance to hang out, share apps, and enjoy the night.

Family Open Swim
Join us for our second open swim for families on Saturday, August 4th, 12 to 2 PM.  All ages are welcome to jump in for a splashing good time, and perhaps have an ice cream or two!

Remembering Reid

Sailors and spectators alike are invited to KBIA’s eighth annual Reid Sacco Family Regatta on Saturday, August 11th. The day starts with a skipper meeting at 10 AM, followed by sailing at 10:30 AM. Interested participants should register in the office to reserve a KBIA boat or bring their own boat to launch between 285 and 292 Beach Avenue. Due to the shallow nature of the cove, even at high tide, sailors should use an Opti, Laser, Taz or Chickadee watercraft.

A $10 suggested donation per sailor will benefit the Reid Sacco Foundation. The regatta honors a longtime KBIA student and instructor who died of sarcoma at age 20 in 2005. For information on the Reid Sacco Foundation, visit www.cancerinyoungadults.org/about-the-alliance/.

Getting in and out safely at KBIA

Please help us keep KBIA safe for everyone! Our pick-up/drop-off zone is designed for a quick in-and-out, and it is imperative that drivers stay with their vehicles at all times. In case of emergency, this is the only way in for response vehicles. Kennebunk police have and will continue to ticket. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us move traffic along in that busy section!
