This week at KBIA
MONDAY MOVIE NIGHT: “Over the Hedge,” Rated PG, 7 to 9 PM, $9. (Ages 7-12)
TUESDAY TWEEN NIGHT: Pool Party/Cookout/Ice cream Night. 6 to 8 PM, $30. (Ages 11+)
WEDNESDAY MOVIE NIGHT: “Herbie Fully Loaded” Rated G, 7 to 9 PM $9. (Ages 4-10)
THURSDAY TEEN NIGHT: Pool Party/Cookout/Ice cream Night. 6 to 8 PM, $30. (Ages 13+)
*Please preregister for all the above events at the office so we may accurately plan for transportation and/or admission fees.
**Registration for movie night is limited to 50 children, and registration for movie night at the office closes at 4PM the day of the movie or when we reach capacity. Please be advised we almost always reach capacity!
FAMILY COVE WALK:
Saturday, August 10…1 to 3 PM
*Open to the public, $12 per family

Family Open Swim
Join us for our second open swim for families on Sunday, August 11th, 1 to 3 PM.
All ages are welcome to jump in for a splashing good time!

KBIA Store Sale
Come on in!
We hope to see you at the KBIA store this week – all purchases of $50 or more will get 15% off — but only until this Friday! This is a great opportunity to stock up on your KBIA momentos, shirts, tumblers, mugs, beach blankets, hats, burlap bags, etc…hurry in!
The store is located at Strong Cottage and open during office hours Monday to Friday 9 AM to 4 PM (closed for lunch between 12 to 1 PM).

Extend the gift of “summer”
KBIA is truely a unique experience, offering children the opportunity to pick and choose classes, tailoring to their specific interests. We are proud to run such an extensive variety of programs year after year – from surfing, sailing, kayaking, to reading, drama, pottery, to swim team, golfing, tennis, woodworking…and so much more…there is something for everyone. We owe these fantastic summers at KBIA to the generosity of members and donors.
Please help us keep the spirit of summer alive for children who are unable to attend KBIA without assistance. The impact of a summer spent swimming, sailing, and just “being a kid” has a lasting impression. All donations — large, small and/or online are greatly appreciated.

Membership Directory due out this fall
Our annual Membership Directory, due out in late September, makes it easy to stay in touch with your KBIA friends and family throughout the year. Our annual publication lists our trophy winners as well as the 2019 list of KBIA staff and families’ names, addresses, e-mails and phone numbers. In order for it to be as accurate as possible, please make sure the office has your latest contact information. And if you haven’t joined yet for 2019, you have until September 1st!

Season finale: August BBQ & Awards
Saturday, August 17
Join us at KBIA on Saturday, August 17, for the second and final barbecue and awards ceremony. Just like our July event, our August BBQ and Awards Ceremony will kick off with assorted watersports in the pool for various ages:
9:00 AM: Ages 3, 4, 5, 6
9:30 AM: Ages 7-8
10:00 AM: Ages 9+
10:30 AM: Free swim for all ages
At 11 AM, we will begin the awards portion of the day, handing out various KBIA “wedges” and traditional KBIA honors.
The awards will be followed by a BBQ of hot dogs, veggie burgers, hamburgers, chips, potato salad, and cake!
Cost is $6.
At 1:30 PM, we will hold our annual Membership Meeting under the white tent. All KBIA members are invited for an opportunity to share thoughts on the season, air ideas for next summer, and ask questions of the Board and/or Executive Director. If you are unable to attend, and would like to send suggestions, please e-mail Martin Lodish. We hope to see you there!
