Two weeks left of this amazing summer season at KBIA!  And there is still so much to do before we wrap up.  Come join us for our open sail/kayak this Saturday, and come on back this Sunday for the Reid Sacco Family Regatta which is open to the community.  There are movies galore this week, but sign up fast before they all fill up (details below), and don’t forget to tell your friends and family to take advantage of next week’s membership-fee-free opportunity.  Double check the lost and found for any missing items, and hop on into the store for some KBIA pride to take with you. Let’s make the most of the last two weeks of summer at KBIA!

Reid Sacco Family Regatta

Sail with us!

Come one, come all! KBIA’s sixth annual Reid Sacco Family Regatta is this Sunday, August 16th.  Skipper meeting is at 11 AM, followed by an 11:30 AM start.  Interested participants may register in the office to reserve a KBIA boat or bring their own boat to launch between 285 and 292 Beach Avenue.  Please be aware that due to the shallow nature of the cove, even at high tide, sailors should use an Opti, Laser, Taz, or Chickadee watercraft.

A $10 suggested donation per sailor will benefit the Reid Sacco Foundation.  The regatta honors a longtime student and instructor who died of sarcoma at age 20 in 2005.  For information on the Reid Sacco Foundation, visit www.cancerinyoungadults.org/about-the-alliance/.

Membership Directory due out this fall

Our annual Membership Directory, due out in late September, makes it easy to stay in touch with your KBIA friends and family throughout the year. Our annual publication lists our trophy winners as well as the 2015 list of KBIA staff and families’ names, addresses, e-mails and phone numbers. In order for it to be as accurate as possible, please make sure the office has your latest contact information. And if you haven’t joined yet for 2015, you have until next Friday

Wear your heart on your sleeve (or car)
Take a little piece of KBIA home with you this fall. Our store, located inside Strong Cottage and open during office hours, is chock full of hats, long- and short-sleeved T-shirts, fleeces, umbrellas, sweatshirts, sweatpants and so much more to help you remember the good times at KBIA all year long. Come get some KBIA pride before the season is over!

Lost items? Find them here

Our lost and found is overflowing with towels, goggles and clothing that someone surely is missing. Before leaving KBIA in two weeks, please stop by the gray bin, located outside the garage door of Smith House. Items left behind at the end of the season will be donated to Goodwill.
