‘Tis the season for gratitude, for giving, for good cheer! Every day at KBIA we are grateful for the contributions of our members, volunteers, and donors…YOU are what keeps us going, and the children are the direct beneficiaries.  On this day – November 29th – we have been called to action…#GivingTuesday is a day we are asked to give in whatever capacity we are able, to a cause, an organization, to a greater good.  We hope you consider KBIA on this day.

What will your #GivingTuesdayKBIA donation support at KBIA?

We are inviting you to select what you would like your donation to support…there are three funds available:

  • Scholarships: For children who otherwise would not be able to learn to sail, make crafts, go island exploring, play tennis, learn to swim…among the many amazing summer activities at KBIA.  And not only do they have access to classes, but they are forming friendships and making memories to last a lifetime.  Each year we have traditionally offered 20 to 25 children the opportunity to experience a KBIA summer — free of charge and discreetly issued. We are able to set the number of scholarships based directly on the amount of money donated specifically to scholarships. Donating to our scholarship fund is donating an invaluable experience to a child who will forever cherish their time spent at KBIA.
  • Facilities: Updating and maintaining KBIA facilities is necessary to keep our campus and programs running smoothly.  A few off-season projects on the agenda include: new water polo nets, new sailing and pool items, a new motor for one of our support boats on the waterfront, a new floor for the tent, addressing the ventilation (to make it a bit cooler) on the second floor of Smith, water access on the docks (to help clean our boats), stone under the boats that are stored near Strong, updating the bathrooms in Smith.
  • General:  Let us decide! This donation fund can be accessed for a multitude of projects for the benefit of KBIA summer enrichment activities.
All donations help support a place that lets children be children and lets them explore the vast and rugged beauty of the Coast of Maine in summer, while building knowledge, leadership, and respect for themselves, others and their world.
