Summer is slowly winding down, but we are still going strong at KBIA, packing in as much fun as we possibly can in this last week of our 107th season. Soak up the salt air and sunny skies, the bustling activity of KBIA campus, Mother’s beach, and the playground. Enjoy every minute of these last summer classes, movie nights, teen/tween nights, and visits with summer friends.
We are ending the season with a bang with a swim team meet, family beach bonfire, and you MAY even catch Martin jumping into the pool on Friday. And we will be holding our final watersports, awards ceremony and BBQ this Saturday. We hope you’ll join us in enjoying these last days of summer at the beach!

Season Finale Fun
August Awards & BBQ
Please join us at KBIA this Saturday, August 19, for the second and final award ceremony and BBQ. Just like our July event, our August event will kick off with assorted watersports in the pool for various ages:
8:30 AM: 3- 4 year olds
9:00 AM: 5- 6 year olds
9:30 AM: 7- 8 year olds
10:00 AM: 9 and older
10:30 AM: Free swim for all ages
At 11 AM, we will begin the awards portion of the day, handing out various KBIA “wedges” and traditional KBIA honors.
The awards will be followed by a BBQ of hot dogs, veggie burgers, hamburgers, chips, potato salad, and cake! Cost is $6.
At 1:30 PM, we will hold our annual Membership Meeting under the white tent (details below).

All KBIA members are invited to our annual meeting at 1:30 PM this Saturday under the tent. Come share with us your thoughts on this season, bring ideas for next summer, and ask questions of the Board and/or Executive Director. If you are unable to attend but would still like to share thoughts, please email Martin Lodish.

One More Family Bonfire
Friday, August 18
With so many requests for another family bonfire, and the tides being in our favor…we thought, why not?! What better way to cap off the last day of KBIA classes than with a family beach bonfire! Bring some hot dogs and s’mores and join us at 6 PM on Friday, August 18. Good toasty food, beach games, and friends make the best summer memories. No registration required, just let the good times roll.

Calling all Swim Team Members!
KBIA Swim Meet
We would like to invite any swim team members from this season to join us for an End of the Year Mini Swim Meet to be held during our final practice time on Friday, August 18 from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. Please see Sue, Alex, or Anu for swimming events interest. Due to the time limit, only 25 or 50 yard events can be offered (relays possible if there is enough interest). Get ready for some fun!

KBIA Store Sale – EXTENDED
Hooray!
The store sale has been extended through Week 8 until the end of the day Friday, August 18. All purchases of $50 or more will get 15% off!
The store is located at Strong Cottage and open during office hours Monday to Friday 9 AM to 4 PM (closed for lunch between 12 to 1 PM).
Load up on your KBIA goodies…we have towels, beach blankets, tumblers, t-shirts, fleece jackets, long-sleeved shirts, hats, burlap bags…come look around!

Last call for Lost & Found
Towels, clothes, and bathing suits…all missing items found have been kindly washed and folded by our front desk staff and placed in plastic bins under the bench on the Strong Cottage porch. Any items not claimed by the end of next week will be donated to charity. Other lost items can be found in the gray bin next to the Smith house garage.
We also have a number of unclaimed pottery & sculpture items – please inquire at the front desk.

MONDAY MOVIE NIGHT: “Finding Dory,” Rated PG, 7 to 9 PM, $8. (Ages 7-12)
TUESDAY TWEEN NIGHT: Mini-golf at Wonder Mountain & ice cream, 6 to 8:30 PM, $28. (Ages 11-12) FULL
WEDNESDAY MOVIE NIGHT: “Finding Nemo”, Rated G, 7 to 9 PM, $8. (Ages 4-10)
*No bonfire beach BBQ tonight due to timing of high tide – join us on Friday night instead!*
THURSDAY TEEN NIGHT: Pool party & movie, 7 to 9 PM, $28. (Ages 13+)
*Please preregister for all the above events at the office so we may accurately plan for transportation and/or admission fees.
**Registration for movie night is limited to 50 children, and registration for movie night at the office closes at 4PM the day of the movie or when we reach capacity. Please be advised we almost always reach capacity!
