Two weeks of amazing summer adventures await you at KBIA! There is still so much to do before we close out our 107th season. Check in at the front desk to schedule any classes your child hasn’t tried out yet. If you’re just joining us this week, we are so excited to see you! Don’t forget we have free swim twice a day, check out the KBIA store, join our last family bonfire night on Wednesday, and sign up for our last Cove Walk this Saturday. Let’s make the most of the last two weeks of summer at KBIA!

Reid Sacco Family Regatta
This Saturday
Join us this Saturday, August 12, for the eighth annual Reid Sacco Family Regatta at KBIA. The regatta honors a longtime student and instructor of KBIA who passed away at the age of 20 of sarcoma, in 2005. We always have a blast out on the water as we remember Reid and sail in support of others fighting sarcoma. We hope to see you there!

Extended Family Bonfire
Last one of the season!
Who doesn’t love a family bonfire and barbecue on the beach?! Our Wednesday bonfire on August 9th will stay open for another adult/family gathering until the movie night is about to close (we will close it down just before 9PM). Bring an appetizer or something to share, any beach game, and meet us at Mother’s Beach from 6 to 9PM. This will be our last bonfire BBQ of the season (due to timing of high tide during week 8), so we hope you will join in and help us close out a fun season of family bonfire BBQ fun!
If you partake in adult beverages, please keep them in covered containers, and remember to bring your own plates, cups, cutlery. KBIA does provide supervision of the bonfire, but parents are responsible for monitoring their own children. No registration required.

Extend the gift of “summer”
KBIA is truely a unique experience, offering children the opportunity to pick and choose classes, tailoring to their specific interests. We are proud to run such an extensive variety of programs year after year – from surfing, sailing, kayaking, to reading, drama, pottery, to swim team, golfing, tennis, woodworking…and so much more…there is something for everyone. We owe these fantastic summers at KBIA to the generosity of members and donors.
Please help us keep the spirit of summer alive for children who are unable to attend KBIA without assistance. For every $500 donated to the KBIA scholarship fund, we are able to invite a child to attend KBIA for a four week scholarship! The impact of a summer spent swimming, sailing, and just “being a kid” has a lasting impression. All donations — large, small and/or online are greatly appreciated.

Membership Directory due out this fall
Our annual Membership Directory, due out in late September, makes it easy to stay in touch with your KBIA friends and family throughout the year. Our annual publication lists our trophy winners as well as the 2017 list of KBIA staff and families’ names, addresses, e-mails and phone numbers. In order for it to be as accurate as possible, please make sure the office has your latest contact information. And if you haven’t joined yet for 2017, you have until September 1st!
