Each summer, thanks to the generosity of our community, more than a dozen children attend KBIA on full scholarship—four unforgettable weeks, completely free of charge. It’s all made possible through the funds we raise at our annual Benefit Auction.
Now in our 155th season, we’re once again offering one-of-a-kind experiences and items you won’t find anywhere else—just like KBIA itself! Bid on unique adventures like:

We’ve changed up our traditional July BBQ + Awards this year, and since we last sent out a note on the Awards & Pizza Party set for this Saturday, we changed around the schedule slightly, so please take note: We will be serving pizza BEFORE the awards. Pizza will be served at 11, and the awards portion of the day will start at 11:30.
We’re working on our 2025 Activity Guide with this year’s classes and schedules. We’ll send out an email closer to the date and expect to post it here Feb. 15. Get excited!
Our application for counselor positions is now open! Please note – we give first priority to returning applicants who can commit to four consecutive weeks. Once returning employees who can commit to a minimum of 4 consecutive are staffed, the rest of the applicants will be reviewed and staffed accordingly. Every year we receive more applications than we have openings and while we work to find space for as many as possible, a completed application does not guarantee employment.
It was a great running of our 33rd annual Day at the Beach 1K Kids Fun Run and 5K race around the Kennebunk Beach neighborhood.
Deemed unsalvageable by three separate playground inspectors, all current playground equipment will be coming down in the next week. In weather fit for the ducks, more than 200 runners crossed the finish line with smiles at the 31st annual A Day at the Beach 5K/1K road race at murky Mother’s Beach! Results here
The countdown to summer at KBIA is officially ON! One week from today, we open at Mother’s Beach for more fun under the sun … and we invite you to join us! “Try before you buy” for the first week, June 26-30 (pay for classes only, no membership required); after that, classes are open to members only, and membership is open to all. We hope to see you at the beach!
