Week 4: Keep on running!

Wow, what a week! Classes are in full swing here at KBIA and we can’t contain all the fun we’re having!  Check out pictures of our classes on the KBIA Facebook page.  Our 24th Annual “A Day at the Beach” Road Race on Sunday was a great success, with runners, volunteers, and spectators all joining in the fun.  If you haven’t already, come swing by KBIA to get a glimpse of our summer enrichment programs — sign up in the office, we are happy to help make your summer one to never forget!

We had a beautiful – and hot! – day for our 24th Annual 1k Kids fun run and 5k road race.  It certainly was a great day to run down by the beach and jump in the ocean afterwards! This year we hosted a total of 343 runners, with 102 kids in the 1k fun run and 241 runners in the 5k race

Congratulations to Quinn Pinkham, the overall boys 1k winner finishing at 3:12, and Evie King, the overall girls 1k winner finishing at 3:29!  In the 5k race, William McGovern crossed the finish line with a time of 17:31, and Maggie McGovern came first in the women’s division at 21:56.  Check out pictures from the day on KBIA’s facebook page!

Thanks to all the volunteers, runners, and spectators for making this such a special and fun day!

Clynk for KBIA

CLYNK is another way to help preserve our beaches and help KBIA at the same time!  We now have those green bags available at our office for members to pick up, fill with returnables, and redeem them at the Kennebunk Hannaford (or any CLYNK redemption center).  Proceeds from KBIA-tagged bags will benefit our nonprofit organization.
