Hello again! I am thrilled to be back working within the KBIA community – it truly feels like coming home. This is the first of many messages I will be sending to you, but this one is particularly exciting because it is my first as Executive Director! We have been working diligently behind the scenes during this off season to get the 2020 summer planning underway. There are many new developments in the works, including some new kayaks on the horizon, and I’m happy to share that the new membership directory should also be arriving in your mailboxes soon (if it is not there already)!

I truly hope to get to know all of you better over the next year. Please know that my “door” is always open, whether it be an e-mail during the winter months, or you’d like to pop by the office once we are open for our 2020 summer season. Being a part of KBIA has always been about community and I look forward to building on the passion, dedication, and warmth of our community alongside you.

Introducing…

Article ImageI am so pleased to announce the addition of our new Program Administrator, Lorraine Aromando. You may already know her from KBIA, as she has been with us for the past 10 years teaching surfing, kayaking, and stand up paddle boarding. During the off season, in addition to her work at KBIA, she teaches at a private school in the Portland area. Lorraine, her husband Ron, and their three dogs reside in Kennebunk, and enjoy fishing and surfing the Maine coast.

Please join me in a warm congrats to Lorraine – we are excited for her new role in our KBIA family!

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. Simply put – a day that encourages people to do good, to celebrate generosity and kindness.

Every year, KBIA strives to make a difference in the lives of children, parents, counselors, faculty, and staff…every summer, for 110 years.

In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, this year, KBIA is asking you to share your #kbiastory. Maybe your family has been coming here for decades or maybe last year was your first summer. We want to hear how KBIA has made a difference your life.

Be sure to check out our Facebook page on Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, for ways to engage with us on this day via social media or send me an email at [email protected]. I cannot wait to hear how your families came to KBIA and how the community has touched your lives throughout the years!
