Want to work at KBIA?

Our application for counselor positions is now open! Please note – we give first priority to returning applicants who can commit to four consecutive weeks. Once returning employees who can commit to a minimum of 4 consecutive are staffed, the rest of the applicants will be reviewed and staffed accordingly. Every year we receive more applications than we have openings and while we work to find space for as many as possible, a completed application does not guarantee employment.

We will rebuild the playground!

Deemed unsalvageable by three separate playground inspectors, all current playground equipment will be coming down in the next week. It’s been an extremely complicated decision by our board, guided by national to local experts in various areas, and we are moving forward with design, approval and installation of playground equipment for Summer 2025.
For Summer 2024, we will install a new set of swings and add some temporary equipment to the space – a climbing structure with a slide, a playhouse, and a frame for a sandbox. All these pieces, with the exception of the swings, can be removed at the close of this season. The Board will continue to develop a fully redesigned playground plan that can be integrated with the inground work needed and potentially have pieces that we can remove every winter. The new playground design, still under construction, will be installed for the 2025 summer.

“Try before you buy”

The countdown to summer at KBIA is officially ON! One week from today, we open at Mother’s Beach for more fun under the sun … and we invite you to join us! “Try before you buy” for the first week, June 26-30 (pay for classes only, no membership required); after that, classes are open to members only, and membership is open to all. We hope to see you at the beach!

Register for our 5K/1K road race

 

KBIA Annual A Day at the Beach 1k/5k, Sunday, July 9
Registration is now open for our 2023 “A Day at the Beach” 5k/1k road race! Be one of the first to register here! Our USATF-certified course begins and ends at beautiful Kennebunk Beach. The course winds through Kennebunk Beach’s shaded, beachside neighborhood and finishes alongside the Atlantic. Post-race snacks and beverages are provided. The 1k begins at 8:30 AM and the 5k begins immediately following the 1K (8:45ish). Watch a recap from last year here or watch the race in its entirety here:

Playground is closed indefinitely

Due to damage beyond repair sustained in back-to-back storms Jan. 10 and Jan. 13, 2024, the KBIA playground at Mother’s Beach is closed to the public. Our playground remains closed because the structures are unsafe for anyone of any age to use. All equipment will be removed before the end of May. Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation.
